Beer Labels

I *finally* came up with a name for my "Brewry":

The 7th Day Brewing Project

This first set was printed out on my Epson Ink Jet printer onto Avery labels. Don't use Avery labels on the beer bottles. They won't come off. For the second set, I bought a special paper that's made for bottles... we'll see how that goes.

Since the first set of labels wouldn't come off the bottles, I decided to try a different kind of paper. I picked this paper up at the homebrew supply store. You can use it in the ink jet printer, and apply to bottles by moistening the back.

I did a test bottle first, and decided I *really* needed to put some kind of polyurethane coating on top of the labels so the ink wouldn't run. I bought a non-toxic acrylic spray at the art supply store. Before cutting the labels out of the sheets, I applied the spray in two really light coats. After cutting out the labels, and doing another test, I realized I could have put *alot* more acrylic on. I tried to put more on, and was very careful about putting the labels on the bottles. They turned out okay... not great, just okay.

Anyhoo... here is the label for the Celebrator Dopplebock. This is the first one to get the 7th Day logo:

I'm working on the next label right now...
